I'm looking for a preamp kit. My speakers (Short Thors) are not efficient enough to go with a tube amp, so I'll eventually build a solid state amp, but I'd like a tube or tube/solid state pre. This preamp will likely be used with something like an AKSA 100 amp in the future. I only need one source, for a DAC. My top contenders are the GK1 from Aspen at about $850, the Grounded Grid at $500 or the Foreplay III with upgrade at $750. I'm a novice, having built only a DAC so I want to stay with kits.
Are there any others I should be looking at?

I'm totally confused on the different models available. I'm looking here: GlassWare Line Stage & Headphone Amplifiers Kits and PCBs. I don't need a phono stage, just one set of inputs for a DAC.
Maybe this will help
