Which Phase Linear preamp?

Hi all. Are there any Phase linear veterans in here?

I have a Phase Linear 400 mk2 and would like to pair it with a Phase Linear preamp. But which one is best suited for the 400?
I have looked into the 1100 and the 1400

I owned a PL1200. Nothing special but great looks. The 1100 and 1400 are equalizers I believe.

In addition to the PL400 and the PL1200, the PL1400 would make a beautiful rack. 🙂

Yes, but one can only connect one device. Tuner, CD or tape, or...
There was no difference in sound that I can remember.
But in those days I did care more for power. 🙂
