The Alnico option looks sexier, but the Neo is cheaper and apparently has a slighty more linear frequency response.
One advantage of Neodymium is that it doesn't demagnetize, which Alnico does, but one thing never mentioned (or better said: I couldn't find) is how much time the Alnico magnets need to perform far worse than new and need to remagnetize. It would be good to know that (at least, to me).
