Hello!
I am looking for a midrange that could easily cope with
4.5-5 KHz crossover point (I am going to use it with
Audax HD-3P tweeter).
There's my shortlist:
Scan-Speak 12M - very flat up to 5 KHz, but I wonder
whether would the 50W power handling be sufficient for
me because I like midrange driver to be fast and dynamic
without compression
Audax HM130Z10 - this one looks to be more proficient
in terms of powerhandling and dynamics than SS, but the
freq. spectrum in not so flat as in SS...
Accuton C79-6 .. this one seems the best to me, however
I am not quite trusting this freq. curve on their website,
it looks like it has a peak around 1 KHz, anyone can comment
on that?
Seas Excel M15CH001 - this one looks great, but I do not
trust polipropylene drivers.. anyone heard this driver?
THX,
esl

How low do you want it to go... any of the 4-6" Fostexs would be worth a look. The Jordan JX92 as well.

Mos: thanks for a hint, ayway I'd like to use one of the drivers
mentioned.
tbla: this ATC dome is great, but to expensive for me..
dave: I'd like to go down to 200-300 Hz so that I could use
midrange driver with 10" woffer like Eton or Focal...
Well, I started to thing more and more seriously about
Seas Excel M15CH001, mostly because of its nice rollof.

i'd say you can't afford to not buy it.....😉
Hello tbla 🙂
Here, in Poland U have to deal with taxes, customs and so on...
That's why buying ATC from UK has no sens, unless someone
can send me a pair as a gift (so I do not pay customs) and
I pay him via Paypal or sth like that 😉
Cheers 🙂

I own a set of Ariels, and they are superb. However I suspect 5K is much too high a crossover point for the P13. It starts beaming around 2K, and at 5K it starts to roll off.
Bear in mind, I don't know what I'm talking about.

- Which midrange to go up to 5 KHz?
