Hi
first time posting here, though I we been lurking for some time now 🙂
Was looking for a FW amp for my Omens for some time now, but living in Europe they are relatively rare - and pretty expensive, even 2nd hand (especially J2). Economy being what it is i decided to go DIY way and try to build one but I am unsure which one - F6, F5 or perhaps even Aleph J. From what I read it seems that F5/F6 have more authority over bass (which I fell Omens need); though on the other hand there are some that praise M2 for its tubesque qualities - which usually work well with Zu's. Essentially I would be grateful if you have any input and or experience with the said - or similar speakers - and FW amps.
All the best

Omen is a 12ohm speaker with little demand for current.
I'd use Aleph J or J2 or Ba-1. Or even the zen amp. I believe Zu demos these with aleph J.
These are single ended amplifiers. Other Firstwatt amps are push pull and designed for speakers that demand more current into low-ohm loads. And the push pull amps having more bass control is more about how they react with the load than the amplifier itself.
You have chosen a very easy to drive speaker that is not demanding of current. In my opinion it would be a shame not to choose an amplifier that fits these qualities. Which to me means aleph.Unless you want to go the SIT route or play with tubes.

Can’t find a measurement of the impedance curve of the target speaker, but the one’s i have seen are not very flat. If this one follows the same direction you want to choose an amp with fairly low output impedance.

More of interest is the maximum. With a high output impedance amplifier the FR is modified by the interaction with the speaker impedance. If the impedance rises so doe the FR, if it dips so goes the FR.
Here the Soul Supreme which is similar to other models i have seen.

Thanks for all the answers...I found Omen's impedance curve on ZU's website and it really does like similar to the Soul's
So, looking from FW page this means something like F5? Although, Aleph J and M2, which were also suggested, seem pretty low also
