Thanks for sharing your experience. Starting to rethink this. If I need to go to monoblocks to run balanced, that's probably more of a project than I want to take on. I'll take some measurements.Might want to measure/calculate the voltage needed to drive your speakers to your favorite listening levels. I've got some 90dB efficient speakers and found running an F4 clone off the SE outputs of a Benchmark DAC3 to need a little bit more. Solved the problem by building a pair of F4s and running them as balanced monoblocks off of the balanced outputs. More than enough drive for me.

Yeah that's another project that's been tempting me for a while but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.Just to add temptation ........ Troels has reworked the crossovers for the NS - 1000 's .
For many of his designs , Troels has stopped publishing values on his schematics , because people were copying his designs
and selling them for retail . So regardless of whether you intend to rework the crossover ,
recommend getting a printout of this just in case the values are removed .

I am with Zen Mod on this one: M2 / M2x
A wonderful gateway amp into the DIY designs from N. Pass. Plus the opportunity to experiment with different input stages.
Plenty of power on tap, though I strongly recommend building a dual-mono power supply for improved imaging and definition.

Regarding Troels' crossover, there are no values on the schematic of the new version, as far as i can see. Unless I'm missing something, this is one where you have to buy the kit, complete with all those high-priced components, or else forget it.

Yes , you're right . Troels has a title that reads " The New Crossover " but then shows the schematic for the original .
The values for the new crossover are not provided .
The Level 1 kit is 773 Euros - yikes !
The Level 2 kit is 477 Euros
The only difference I see in the 2 kits is the caps . So that 's 2 x 5 caps .
After shipping , taxes and possibly brokerage fees the cost of the Level 1 kit would be a bit much .
