Hi all,
I am very new at loudspeakers forum. So may be its a stupid question.
I have a TDA1514A based subwoofer amplifier (48-50W RMS @ 4ohm with 100Hz 12dB/oct. LPF). I have two 4ohm 16cm (6" dia) subwoofer driver. I gues they are good brand drivers (but I'm not sure, they are "WESTRA"). Anyway, the question is; Does one of my driver enough for my 50W amplifier? Does it make a lot of distortion @ full volume?
Thanks for your advices (in advance) ...
Best regards...

If the question is if using a single driver would be enough for a descent subwoofer use, I guess it is not. I don't personnaly know westra and its too late to make a search for me... Well you could probably use your drivers in serie with your amp ending up with a load of 8ohm which is more suitable than 2ohm for your amplifier. Distortion mostly depends on your drivers xmax and you'll need alot for a sub use.
Why exactly dyou need a sub ? Car / HT / Stereo ???

Thanks Guss,
I will use "the subwoofer" for my 4.1. In fact, I have 2 LM1876 and 2 TDA1514. So, for the satellites I use LM1876 (+/-22v 4ohm = 22W per rail) and for the sub, thats the problem node, I cannot buy a new subwoofer driver for now than I must use my 16cm 4ohm twin.. TDA1514A can drive 4ohm with 48W RMS power, in the bridge mode it can drive 8ohm and 100W RMS... Whats the solution?
