Dear Members,
Mr. Papa is going to give DEF circuit so I am going to build pass labs DEF amp after ampcamp and need to feed this.
1. I will play music through my laptop. (FLAC files).
2. After lot of reading in the internet 16bit/44.1khz is fine for me. I am not bothering about 24Bit/32Bit depth.
3. Only bothered issue while buying DAC is USB power noise.
4. Two options are 1. import from aliexpress to India or 2. buy fiio product in India.
I Cannot DIY DAC because difficulty in soldering small leads/components.

Please suggest good sound stage/low noise DAC.

Thanks,
Nag

The DAC chips are available very cheaply from Taobao (find a Taobao agent is the best way) or you could try Aliexpress : Free shipping 10pcs/lot TDA1387 original Product-in Integrated Circuits from Electronic Components & Supplies on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

Speaking of Aliexpress, when I searched for the TDA1387 just now I found this little DAC which already has a USB interface so might suit you even better (Matt's board is I2S so will need a USB interface chip) - new 4X L1387DAC four TDA1387 DAC hifi USB decoder better than TDA1543-in Amplifier from Consumer Electronics on Aliexpress.com | Alibaba Group

While I appreciate the plug for my board, the above suggestion may prove better for someone who wants "plug n play".

If the budget permits, I'd buy two or three of the DACs that Abraxalito linked. Keep one stock, and dip your toes into the waters of modding/DIY. Also take a look at this thread - the main topic is about another DAC, but there were a few times where the discussion strayed a bit and discussed the tda1387x4 usb DAC that Abraxalito is suggesting. Also, some of the mods for the x8 DAC make sense for the little x4-USB as well---in particular, adding capacitance to pin7 (vref) of the tda1387 chip.

Better power is almost always an upgrade, so you could hack (or buy, if you must) a "Y-split" USB cable, where power comes separate from signal (i.e. your PC then does signal only, and a separate device provides clean power). The bar is set pretty low when it comes to getting better power than what comes from a PC's USB port.

Once you start hacking that x4-USB, you're basically at the state I intended for my PCBs, the main differences being mine is more generic by accepting I2S input, and my PCB is much bigger (easier to work on).
