Hello...
I play bass guitar and recently started to try recording the things I played...
I have a Creative AWE 64 and I connect my bass to mike input...
I tried to use some programs but didnt decide which are really worth learning...
I have Cakewalk Pro Audio, SoundForge and Cooledit

Now, my question is which of them are more efficient for multi-track recording and editing/processing ?

I also heard lots of program but cant remember the names now...

Please give me an advice for the best software names...

Thanks in advance...

Sounds like easier would be better for you at this time. Cooledit pro might be just the thing. Cakewalk pro is a professional platform similar to what you would find in a studio(they use macs with cubase) and as you may have noticed with a manual the size of a phone book. Basically decide what you want to do, record or learn. Cakewalk has a steep learning curve but you get the best of both worlds, Digital audio and midi, with seamless integration. We use cakewalk in our studio though not for DA. We use it for midi and lock it up to a 24 track with midi machine control. If you want to record right away use cooledit. It sounds like it might be an aesier program to pick up quik. Good luck

Yeah, it IS a simple program to use 😀 Yet, it IS a powerful program, with a lot of options. Cakewalk and the like have more options, automation, midi and stuff, but, as you said, the manual is the size of a Bible.
