Hi all,
i want to build a pass amp and need your help for my decission. My choice is currently the Aleph J or the F3.
Which amp is better? The F3 is a single stage amp, the Aleph J 2 Stage amp. From that point the F3 may have advantages. But Aleph J has a damping factor of 20, the F3 only 8. And the F3 has a capacitor for decoupling. Here the aleph j may be better.
I`d love it if Mr. Pass could personally answer.
And will the Aleph J be much better, if i upgrade it with the Super Symmetry to Aleph-JX like the XA series?
I hope you can help me out.
best regards

hello,
ok sorry, here are the facts.
speaker: projekt 1.3 (3 excel and ESS AMT1 )
my room ist about 22 qmeters
i like to hear to RnB, Soul, Jazz and sometimes metal and rock.
there are rumors the F3 has sweet highs and sounds like tube amps. But Mr. Pass says that the Aleph j is the best Aleph...

Hi,
the Projekt 1.3 has only 4 Ohm nominal impedance - means the real impedance may be even lower than that - so I would recommend a F5.
These 2 particular amps are something more for higher impedance speakers (real 8 Ohms) as distortion increases quite a bit otherwise.
But do not let you put off your choice if you're already fancing them 😀
Have fun, Hannes
