where would you put the vent(s) in this little Karlson?

if it were built like Karlson's 1954 12" enclosure it could have a gap vent right above the shelf. If it were built like Karlson's 8" enclosures it would have two or three horizontal slots in the upper portion of the reflector. I've no way to model these effects - maybe someone good with MJK's sections could see a trend. This coupler will be to try FE206EN and maybe W8-1772

An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.

There were some different version of openings - I remember the 8 - 12" Dutch version having slots and the 15" having a big vertical slot.

I do not think that the location is that important however remembering having to put a "hard" finish in the front chamber in order retain the highest frequencies I would seriously consider not having an opining exactly behind the slot.

At this moment my thoughts for myself are towards making a small horn with an opening like Bill Woods has (which is the only horn he has kept). This will be either some scaled model of the Bill Woods model on his website or alternatively using the BK10 and putting a Karlson slot in front.

One thing I have thought about but never tried was making the opening from the second reflex chamber to the front chamber a Karlson slot too with a surface area equaly to the orignal opening.

Good luck with your experiment, I like the design.
