I have a yamaha ax-440 that has two blown output transistors.
Anyone know where i can get replacements? Are there any other transistors that will be suitable as a replacement?

Hi,
These people have them.

The only issue is that they're in Australia, but I can vouch for their excellent service. Unfortunately they are a bit old fashioned and haven't quite got their site up and running in a modern fashion! Very good for prompt delivery, though. I usually fax an order; I know it's a bit of a pain, but still... There's a fax order dowloadable on the site.
I recently bought two each of transistors similar to yours (A1263 C3180) which I can vouch are genuine Toshiba; or at least look absolutely identical in quality to the originals.
You can download a PDF catalogue - they have a massive range of hard to find transistors. I also got some Rohm transistors which were practically impossible to find elsewhere.
I've checked and yours are listed.
Cheers
Stuey

ok, i found some A1265 and C3182 at a local store...
the original parts in the amp appear to be toshiba parts but i dont think toshiba makes them anymore...the ones at the store were made by some unknown manufacturer but they were faily cheap ($2.50 each). are those parts worthy of being used?
the amp is an old yamaha natural sound ax-440 i got for free. i dont think the amp is worth more than $50-$100 if it was working. should i bother to track down the original parts?
