Looking at various options (Thomann/Mouser/Digikey), the prices for a lot of stereo gold plated quarter inch jacks are quite high. Good quality jacks start from 4 euro and the stuff not on Thomann starts at 5 to 6 euro. Is there any vendor in Europe that supplies connectors at more reasonable prices?

I agree, and Amazon is like temu nowadays for a lot of products. One might be fine, then the other 19 might be bad and then the company disappears/changes name. I am sticking with name brands only.
I suppose I want to make sure I'm not missing something with Thomann prices haha. I guess I will be sticking with the Neutrick on Thomann even though I'm not happy with their ground soldering method, as the prices are more reasonable than other sites.
"Reasonable prices" usually start with "reasonable quantities" - prices for 100 pcs are probably different than price for 1 piece.
