This is the best I could do within the 100k file size limit.
I rather post it here, others may benefit as well 😉
Let me know if you can't read it.

I will make a new DAC and the CD will be the transport.

philips FW790P , sled wont come home for dinner

Guys i got a wierd one and need al the help i can get. Got the above mentioned philips 3 cd carousel in a philips mini component.
The sled motor doesnt come home. I've checked the TDA7073A motor drive and can manually get the sled to move by driving the inputs with my multimeter test probe. When i observe the signal on the motor drive ic's inputs on my scope i dont see any drive signal.
The carousel shuttles through all 3 cds serially and then reports "no disc"
Shouldnt it report an error since the sled doesnt come home...?...strange as always
I dont have a schematic for the unit and am lost.. customers breathing down my back. The unit uses a SAA7378GP as RF and servo.
Please advise.....

Hi !

Have you already checked the power-supply from the DAC and the following stages ? Have you scoped the Signals on the three pins ?
