You can get good pots from Digikey. The Panasonics and ALPS are usually well regarded. Also tangentsoft.net sells one of the top of the line ALPS Blue Velvet pots.
If you need one *on the cheap*, Rat Shack has an inexpensive 10k ohm, dbl gang Alps that works fairly well. Please note I bought one that didn't track worth a darn though.
The only thing I'll buy from Radio Shack is blank Circuit boards with the holes in them, and silver core solder.
Other than that, you won't find much quality electronic parts at RS without being ripped off
