Your work is beautiful! I too am motivated by a favourite station on AM, I have extensively modified a standard 5-valve superhet (4 foot loop antenna, RF preamp, seperate local oss., infinite impedance detector, I even built a sweep generator to see how to align the IF coils for a wide flat response) and now I am accidentally experimenting with regenerative one valve with grid-leak detection. I am eager to get back to my superhet and try your IF filter and unique detector.

OK. From time to time, take a look at my thread, because I will continue posting advances.

A detail, is that my strange detector, only works when both sides of the last IF transformer ae RF hot, like mine one. But I believe it is useless in the usual case, with one lead grounded by the 100pF capacitor.

Also, keep in mind that separating detector and AGC stages cooperates in finding the best operating point to the RF, MX and FI tubes, which is impossible when both circuits starts at the same point: the detector load.
