Where do you find cabinets for amplifiers?

Hi,

I'm building my first audio amplifier and I have everything I need... except a cabinet. I cannot find something affordable, even in China, the shipping cost is 2 times the price of the box...

Any ideas?

PS I'm in Europe

I never found a decently priced box for a DIY amplifier: all of them are too costly. Someone posted, that they buy an unserviceable amplifier on ebay to use its box. They say it is cheaper.

What kind of cabinet do you need ? With or without heatsink ? What height ?

If you don't need integrated heatsinks and your amp isn't dissipating much, Reichelt has 1U-2U or 3U 19" ABS enclosure which aren't too bad for less than 20€: Security Check

If there is some heat involved, then their 2U steel ones are at 35€: Security Check

If you spend $800 on the amplifier, then spending $300 on the chassis won't feel so bad.

I don't need a heatsink. I'll check the italian website.

I have a personal probelm with audiophonics and the way the managed my order (I bought my parts from them and the cabinet was in my order... never arrived and after 4 ùonths I decided to cancel this part)
