Hi All,
I just finished building a pair of Audio Nirvana 10" Drivers in their 2.8 "Big Port" cabinet (the large pic below) and I am looking for something to line the port hole at the bottom, which is 6". When I look online (see little pic below) it seems pretty common, but for whatever reason i can't seem to find anything. I suspect it's maybe a matter of terminology and I am not searching for whatever this thing is called? I do find some port flanges, but not for 6" cutout. I was looking for something to line the port that I could attach some grill cloth to the back of, to keep curious hands out of the speaker.
Thanks for looking!

Sadly David Dicks enclosures are not really designed at all and tend to suck. He got kicked off the forum because he blew0up after members critiques his enclosures.
Your 10 is the one of the ANs i have heard that has potential. We designed a miniOnken for them. Needs a ton of break-in.

So I was just wondering where folks are getting flanges / whatever you would call something to line a port hole, to make it look more finished. I belive this is a fairly common item in speaker building, but I am having trouble finding one for a 6" cutout.
Looking at the sims, it looks like a 102m (4”) vent 82mm (3.25”) long if the 2.8 means 2.8 ft[su]3[/sup].

6” and just a hole in the box… way outa tune. Should be something like 23 cm (9.1”)
I have never used those. I am not a fan.

Greets!
You're seeing a flared vent pipe kit, so options are limited:
4" i.d. pipe/6.25" dia. hole
6" i.d. pipe/8.25" dia. hole
Otherwise will need to DIY a plywood/whatever frame to mount to the baffle and tightly stretch wrap it with pet screen for a pet/child barrier and if wondering if really strong enough; FWIW/YMMV it kept an apparently mature, definitely rabid male Raccoon from getting to me while I was trying to close the screen door he'd climbed up, completely destroying the screen door frame, but after all was said n'done the screen had nary a flaw in it, so reused it and since withstood a thoroughly p@#$! off mama Possum that I was able to run off before doing any obvious damage.
lol, sounds fun. Thanks! I came cross the 6" i.d. one you link to before -- says the cutout is 8.25" though. . .

I would be more concerned about someone poking at the driver. Just build a frame to cover the front and stretch some cloth over it. That way the driver and the hole are hidden.I was looking for something to line the port that I could attach some grill cloth to the back of, to keep curious hands out of the speaker.

One would think so, but IME with three girls, one boy, TTBOMK none touched them till they moved and each got scared? enough that they lost any interest in them till they got old enough to want to hear their music on them that is. 🙁
Cats OTOH forced pet screens that weren't as transparent as typical audio ones.

You would search for speaker , port , port tube, port flange
From some of the pictures I see
of completed Audio Nirvana cabinets.
Many look like the Goldwood port tubes.
Maybe a Goldwood PT-309
Also a more flared design is from Precision Port.
PSP4-BKHT
Advertised as a " 4"inch " port
But the mounting flange is designed for a 6 1/4 cutout.
So yes your looking for a port tube flange.
That mounts into a 6" cutout.
But otherwise the actual port tube might be smaller.
Such as 3" or 4". But the mounting area would be for a 6" cutout.
Its common to Flare a port tube for less turbulence or port noise.
So the final flare is larger, so the mounting cutout is larger for the flare.
As far as making calculations for port length and tuning.
maybe that is the confusion. The tube size might be advertised as only be 3" or 4"
and that is used for tuning calculation.
But a advertised 3" or 4" .." tube" might flare out to a larger area that mounts into a 6" cutout.
Which is somewhat common since many port tube ends are flared.
Once you find a flare that fits the mounting hole.
With some speaker data and inside volume of your enclosure and the port tube size.
Likely some members could help calculating a good length to cut the tube length
to achieve a good tuning frequency for the speaker you are using.
