I'm looking to build some surround speakers, and I would like to find a place that sells enclosures. I built one set of speakers and they sound good but I think there is some room for improvement in the sound. I'm looking for boxes around the size needed for 6 1/2 woofers.
Now I'm ready to build some more, but I don't have the tools needed to build really nice cabinets. I bought these cabinets from MCM Electronics, and I was just wondering if there is any other places that sell cabinets other then MCM and Parts Express.
I'm doing a lot more research on my next set of speakers and I've also recently bought Bass Box Pro and X-Over Pro to help me design them a little better.
Here's a picture of the crossovers that I'm using now. They can use some improvement, but this is the first set that I've built the PC board for.

One of the great joys of building your own enclosure, is having it designed to your musical needs. If your not wood shop friendly, you could ask one of the board members within your area to build one for you. I'm not against ready made boxes, however, most of them are scaled around a particular driver. If your not using the same driver, your expectations may fall short.

With the amount of 6.5 drivers available I was hoping that I could find one that would match the box really well. MCM has some cabinets that have a .55 internal volume, and I was looking through the selection at Parts Express thinking that as least one of those drives would "fit".
I've built tons on sub enclosures for auto sound, but I've never had to worry about cosmetics to the point of laying on veneer and staining. I'm just trying to explore the pre-fab route first.
I guess it's time to convince the wife I need a table saw and router. 😀
