Started looking on line for this transformer for the Elliot P05. Power supply.... Does Hammond make one. My principal source might be Quebec, Canada. but if not in the US. Does anyone have a link. Found some on Ebay but they are from China
If you want toroidal Antek has them at decent prices. I have bought a few from them.

Transformer 15-0-15 VAC will put out like +/-20 VDC
For +/-15V DC you need a 12-0-12 VAC transformer
For +/-15V DC you need a 12-0-12 VAC transformer
Just bear in mind the mains voltage has some tolerances, +/-5% in the US, and +10 -6% in Europe.
In addition, the wiring inside a building is allowed an additional +/-5%.
15Vac will work, but it's marginal; I'd feel better with 18Vac.

Fair enough. In practice I get 24v dc under no load after rectifier losses from 15-0-15. Small transformers have lousy internal regulation, so are specced to meet voltage at full load, so are way high unloaded.
You can see why SMPS has caught on!

That very cheap Antek toroidal is NOT center tap transformer, it has 2 identical secondaries.AN-0215 - 25VA 15V TRANSFORMER. has a center tap for 15-0-15. according to the guy I talked to ...out of stock until tomorrow
Can replace a center tap transformer.
You tie the two wires on the secondary together that are adjacent. That creates the center tap.it has 2 identical secondaries.
Yes: high efficiency, compact, light weight, inexpensive, what's not to like?...

But can somebody show me how to make a post filter that's no bigger than the PS itself?
The “Amy Alice” is quite small, very effective and good for up to 3 amps. There are a few threads on that one.But can somebody show me how to make a post filter that's no bigger than the PS itself?
I haven’t weaned myself off linear power supplies yet, but I have bought some meanwell SMPS that I do intend to use for lightweight audio amp duty.
When I get round to actually doing that project, I’ll probably start a thread. (Don’t hold your breath - it may be a while…)
Just joking.
None of the stuff I actually listen to has any SMPS; even my Gustard DAC has linear PS.
I even banned SMPS from my test gear, the excellent COSMOS by IVX: they have some light sensitivities to RF.
What I meant is: it's quite hard to get rid of the 50mV or so of switching noise from a SMPS; a post filter kind of works, but it affects the load regulation because of the series resistance.

- Where can I buy a 15-0-15 transformer (15VA minimum rating) - assuming ±15V output?
