I have a 3 way I'm playing with at the moment, with a JBL 15" bass, 2" CD on a 2385A horn and a 1"CD on a beyma horn.

xo points : 800Hz, 6kHz (4th order)

I added another 15" driver with a 1st order xo at 150Hz.

I noticed the 0.5way 15 has more treble output than the original one (due to shallower slope)

Is it best to lowpass the 2nd driver at 800Hz before doing the 1st order @ 150Hz ?

I'm using a DCX to xo so maybe just use a passive 1st order on the second driver and run them off the same amp channel ?

Thanks,
Rob.

Yes, to turn your 3-way into 3.5-way, the extra woofer needs both the 800Hz XO and the additional 150Hz XO applied.

Running both woofers off the same amp and having a 150Hz passive XO for the 0.5 woofer is certainly a valid option.
