the voltage divider provides just voltage bias, no current is drawn from it....
very seldom to did i use dc on filaments, just this network alone will give
you hum free operation even with ac on filaments...

AJT, I'm not certain I completely understand the second diagram in post 39. where in the circuit are you obtaining the voltage from. the 100 ohm resistors to heaters. Do you mean connect the 6.3 transformer to the 100 ohm resistors? I understand the first diagram if the word fil. ref. meant ( is the same point as the center tap to the 6.3 heater winding is connect at this point.
that is the circuit i often use, the first one is when your filament windings have center taps, the second one when using dc source or ac source without center taps....
