Whats your favorite Aleph??

I thought i remembered reading a post one time - that there was some thought to having
Pass Labs produce a limited run of the Aleph series again... - or something like that?

I guess that's what FirstWatt ended up doing 🙂

I have Aleph 5 (Pass) and Aleph J (DIY). I have never compared them, but I love both, except my AJ has made magic smoke a few times due to my lousy DIY skill.

I consider the minimalist enclosure design of Aleph 5 (2 as well) that beautifully reflects the philosophy of the amp is truly exceptional!

Aleph 0 unhesitatingly.

I built a lot of ALEPH amplifiers clone, especially Aleph 2 and Aleph 0.

In the past, I owned a pair of Infinity Renaissance 90 speakers (87dB),
nominal impedance 4 ohms but with minimal impedance below 2 ohms.

With my Aleph 2 DIY, the speaker protection (1V DC) start off in a large room at high level, never with my ALEPH 0 clone.

"""The Aleph 0 will drive low impedance without a grunt.
You can overlay the distorsion vs power curves for 8, 4 and 2 ohms,they are the same curve ( 75W @ 8 ohms, 150W @ 4 ohms, 250W @ 2ohms ). """

For me, Aleph 0 has the best possible concept :

According to the value of the idle current, it works : First en true Single-Ended at low level, later in class A ( power on 8 ohms) and after in class AB with low impedance.

On my Aleph 0 Rev.1.6 clone, I "JUST HAVE TRY" to make some improvements with 2 PSU, a regulated PSU for the front stage (+ -50V by rail) and a unregulated PSU for output stage (+ -45V by rail)

I also replaced the Mosfet differential pair of input by a Fet differential pair and cascode circuit.
