This is down to the necessities of modern living, but there should be doors to screen off the laundry machines when not in use.

P.S. That flat screen is mounted too high - crick in the neck inducingly high!

All of my screens are wall mounted like that. It's about the position you put yourself in that matters. ie: Easy chairs in every room.
