Re: Never enough
Don`t toss that unstable scope. A small piece of transparent scotch tape applied to the trace once centered will keep it from sliding around on the screen. 😀

I'm looking to trade up to a 20MHz dual or quad trace scope.
This one is a single, and drifts so much, you've got to adjust every few seconds, or the trace goes off the screen.![]()

these threads are fun... its amazing how different people really are...... some people can't function in a neat shop, where others can't imagine one thing being out of place.
i'm a neat freak myself..

What is this "workbench" you speak of. I only have shelves and tables where things get piled. I accomplish no work at home to speak of. Please enlighten me on this ability to do work in your home.😉

My work benches dont last very long. I get one and soon it's piled high with stuff so then I get another small table or desk and the it gets piled high with stuff. It never ends.

Aud1073cH.
Many would like to have such a nice workbench.
I can not match.
But some things we have in common.
Like those bigger 'boxes' with many little plastic boxes inside.
To put components in.

It's a sickness I tell ya!
I guess it's time to update my workbench shots. I ran into some measurements I couldn't make, so over the course of time, frustration turned into determination. That's never a good thing folks. In the end, I traded in my credit rating for some stuff to work with. I wanted new, but I'm just not worth that much.
All my jigs (most anyway) are put away for now. I have to begin a transistor matching frenzy again. Boring, repetitive work that isn't appreciated sometimes.
All I can say is that at least the floor is clean. I'm in between projects. And no, I wouldn't eat of the bench either! I am happy with the gear for now, and there is more that will not fit. I'm hoping for a new bench soon. I'll update at that time.

Hi Choky,
Always more than a pleasure to post with you!
How are things for you? Also, how about a picture of your work area? I bet mine is messier than yours is!

My workshop is in the basement. It requires some serious heating to work there in a Norwegian winter. These pics are before I started insolating the room. Will probably have a revised room later this year. >For now I am contemplating ways insulating walls and floor without cleaning the bench, while stuff is filling the rest of the house and the goood wife is complaining

It needs company in those long winter nights, and a fair bit of rewiring. Otherwise its fun to ride for about 30 minutes before the pain sets in.

Wow, I didn't think you could pack more stuff into that basement, but you indeed managed!
Anatech, I am in awe and jealousy. I don't think we have that much test equipment in the entire building where I used to work. It does appear you have an affection for HP/Agilent products.
On a different note, I recall you saying that you collected vintage test equipment manuals. Is this still the case? If so I think I have some around the homestead, just have to find them.
Peace,
Dave

There's a picture of my bench here on the front page of my hobby website. Click on "Audio" to see my project writeups.
