My wife is originally from Vietnam so we share more than just the foodie side of things. The diversity in the food is a real treat.

Mine was born here a few years after her parents moved from the philippines. I guess that would make her first gen.

Are you man enough to try balut cal? thats one thing for certain I absolutely wont touch. Ive seen it I wont leave a detailed comment on it..but just uh no thank you sir lol.

Save room for the chicken feet and fish bladder wrapped in tofu skin. 🙂

I don't do chicken feet at Dim Sum as mine are better than theirs. 🙂 I forgot about the fish bladder. By Tofu skin are you referring to bean curd sheet?

I can understand that but you can get over it by rethinking. With a chicken egg your are eating 'ovum'. Now that's kinda gross on it's own. I wouldn't think about eating a human egg so why would I want to eat that of a chicken? Gross? Not really, I like my ova over easy thank you. So I eat chicken right? What's the problem in eating it when it's really young? They have stewing chicken, roasting chicken, frying chicken and really young, still in the shell chicken.
Besides it's actually quite good. 😀

Dinner saturday was awesome, one of my wife's specialties, Filo-dough pie with spinach, walnuts and Feta cheese, topped with generous amounts of Villa Zottopera olive oil and some french sea salt sprinkled over.

I see you landed a nice chef as well. I make spinach or swiss chard egg omelettes every once in a while, best with havarti and freshly graded parmesan a little garlic ground black pepper and sea salt. To really kick it up some saute mushrooms of your choice. Its very simple but goes delicious. Its about that dinner time once again I think I just heard a rumble. Its looking like the re-heated chinese theres lots left. Food often taste better the next day, pastas dishes for sure do.

Yes the bean curd sheet. It was one of our usual dim sum the fish maw is the air bladder and it was wrapped with the chicken feet. I had the delux version in Beijing, goose feet with fresh abalone.
