What were they thinking with this bluetooth receiver??

I bought this bluetooth receiver thinking I could use the SPDIF out and bypass the horrible DACs they put in these things. The brand is AOEYU, based on what is written on the empty side of the PCB as well as what it identifies itself as on bluetooth, although it is probably sold under multiple brands (or lack of).

Inside is:
CSR8645 bluetooth receiver SOC with built-in DAC and stuff
PT2308 headphone driver to drive the analogue out and stuff (to be honest I'm pretty impressed they actually had something)
ES7240 24-bit 192kHz ADC
...huh?
And CS8427 SPDIF transceiver

The input pins of CS8427 are connected to ES7240. Therefore I conclude that the ES7240 is taking the analogue outputs of CSR8645, converting it to I2S to feed CS8427
