Wiring's a bit tacky looking, but a beautiful horn!

Thanks 😉 This was just a test before playing with Lowthers. I never really put a finish on them because they were not intended to stay long. 2 years later, they are still in my living room, and I am still debating if I should build a BLH with Lowther PM5A or DX4, or go with a corner design with the GPA 604-8H-III. Since funding is limited for now, I am still reading and trying to find new implementations with Lowthers and GPAs.
I find my current BLH with the Fe207E are lacking in the upper range. I was always tempted to add ESS Heil AMTs but since this is not my final speakers, I never got them.made the move.
BLH with the Fostex 207E 😉

My apologies for resurrecting this thread

That horn may be pretty but i strongly suspect the smooth curve will lead to too much HF leakage out of the mouth.
Have a look at Vulcan if you want a big horn. You might need to damp down excess bass thou.

Thanks Dave. I'm looking to build something as I've acquired a pair of Philips 9710 drivers.
How does a smooth curve "lead to too much HF leakage out of the mouth"? Not debating, but wanting to learn. There are so many different approaches out there...
While pretty, the smooth horn maximizes the amount of high frequencies getting out of the horn mouth. Ideally the mouth should cut off above about 250 Hz.
The 9710 are probably most happy with an OB or a big aperiodic box.

I like the speaker cabinet design, but why are the speaker jacks on the side instead of hidden?
Presumably it was the easiest place to put them. They could go on the back, but you'd have to be sure it was fixed in place so it doesn't vibrate. And if you're a believer in smooth curves, you might then feel it would be disturbed by the internal presence of the wire.
I built the Decca Corner Horn that really is a Voigt pipe using the 9710, Facing up and to the backwall the 9710 sounds good. On axis is very shrill sounding.

9710 IIRC is an old favorite in Karlson applications and its on axis rise favorable for the tilted baffle.

Hello, I would ask for plans for this speaker is great, I would like to build it and use the Lii audio Silver 10 speaker.

Not a great design. Looks good but does not perform that well. And likely a REALLY BAD match for the Silver 10.
