what to do with these caps: 2400 mfd, 450 VDC

With that kind of voltage rating first thing that comes to mind is tube amp power supplies.

Heh, you could do a railgun. Probably wouldn't have a whole lot of power with that amount of capacitance/voltage however.

Tubes are small electron accelerators at between 200 and 500 VDC (big tubes can use even higher voltages)

Surprises.....

I had a boss who would charge 450V caps and leave them on the workshop office desk.
The office girls soon became deeply suspicious of any capacitors anywhere and would only ever touch them with a plastic biro.
I understand the first capacitor meetings were funny - according to the boss that is. 🙂
