What to do with IRF630...have some idea to help me?

O good friend mailed to me many IRF630, he made me a gift, and also he sent me many headphone amplifier schematics that can use those parts.

I really do not like to include stages between CD player and power amplifier, i think each stage distorts something.....so, pre amplifiers is something that i use as weigth to pappers to avoid them to fly away during windy days.

Reason why i am asking you some idea to use them..... as power amplifiers, driving normal speakers.....can be 1 watt, 2 watts or several watts, can be class A or class AB...do not matter to me, what matter is to put them to work, as my friend sent me those units more than 100 days ago and i did not make anything with them.

The friend is someone precious to me...oh!...every friend is precious to us..... and i do not want to pay him with that small respect i am giving him...i want to produce something.


Yes folks...respect is not the adequated word, i do not know what world will fit....consideracao....hummmmm....do not know.

I perceived that they will not fit into some power amplifier output

Oh! I found IRF610, RDS on is 1500 ohms

i think it will not be good as power amplifier output transistor

Hi Carlos,

How do you feel about quasi-complementary power amps. 6 of these would make a very sweet power amp of around 90 watts into 8 ohms and 170 into 4.

Do you have some schematic Quasi?

Post it to me or tell me how to find it.

The IRF610 has that 1500 ohms.

I think i have four or five IRF630

Oh Yeahhh!..i love quasi amplifiers....of course!... NPN and PNP are very different units....two PNP or two NPN is very nice.

This is the schematic that has been built by maybe 30 or more constructors. It can be scaled down to lower powers easily and by using lower power components could be quite cheap to build.

Whilst I have finished it I haven't fired up the new board yet. I have just been very busy (new job, family commitments....) and not had the time.

I have built, tested and used the version that uses the cascode second stage (mosfet) so there is proof that the schematic is valid i.e; the amp swings fully rail to rail etc. I also know that at least one more of this version has been built successfully by a DIY'er.

So I suggested the one that has been built by about 30 others who have provided good feedback on DIY and by email.

Hi guys. A friend asked if I had a schematic to use some IRF630 mosfets he have in his stock. The scheme posted by Quasy seems to be ideal for building an amplifier based on the IRF630s. I will be posting some photos if the project is carried out.
