I just purchased a 300VA 2X38Vac Plitron Transformer from a friend. He had purchased it for a junior design project but got one that puts out a bit more voltage then he wanted (forgot about the square root of two...). Now he didn't want it so I took it off his hands.
Any suggestions for the sort of power supply / amplifier combination that would be best for this transformer? For the DIY amps I've been looked at (Zen4, Gainclone, ect) they want a transformer with quite a bit less then 38V, hopefully someone has a suggestion for me to get the most out of the transformer or at least build something that's decent.
I'm going to be combining the amp with a pair of AudioReview DIY speakers
Thanks for the input

Build an amp and see how it sounds. You have to look for a suitable design to use that trafo though. 🙂

The 'traffo' (sorry didn't know the slang for it 😉 ) does have dual secondaries, the schematics at Plitron threw me off since it only shows it in series hooked up to 230V.
I'll also take a look at that P3A amp, thanks for the input!
Likely I'll be using it in series, so the schematic on the right but just 115 across the traffo.

There's the schematic that was suppose to be above.
