Hi Everyone,

I have recently obtained (for free, thank you very much) a Gardners power transformer with the following specs;

155v, 45v, 100-0-870v, 6.3v, 13.5-0-13.5v, 6.3v, 6.3v

I am a little uncertain as to what I would build with it though, I would like if possible to power two channels. What are my options as to configuring the power supply and what would be the most appropriate use of a tranny like this. Anyone have any ideas I'd love to hear them.

Thanks,

Myles

the value of free trannys

Unfortunately the transformer is in London and I am in Barcelona so I can't check secondaries right now. If it's any help the thing weighs a little over 2kg (5lbs), stands about 8 ins high by 5 wide.

If it did in fact come out of an oscilliscope should I save myself the shipping and politely reject it?

Thansk for the help

Myles

Never reject good iron....

1) You'll figure out a use for it five minutes after saying "no".
2) That big and if out of a scope, imagine the filaments you could power!
3) You can rewind it.
4) Trading power!

🙂
