Hi. I started building a projector during the summer... going the non-OHP way. I got stuck when I had my 400W MH setup and no reflector.
I pretty much gave up but am wondering if anyone has a good way of lighting a home made projector now. I still dont know what to use to reflect the light properly.
If anyone has any ideas please help me. I dont want to waste money on an OHP that will burn out ever 50 hours.
Thanks,
Adam.

Reflector
Lamp dimension plays an important role in choosing right reflector. We have a nice thread talking all about reflectors at:

Basically, elliptical reflector works best in projector followed by parabolic and spherical and others.
Here is how to make one:

Check out other pages also where he has calculations and drawings.
Rolm has recently modified his OHP with a MH lamp using the existing reflector in the OHP - that if you are using an OHP but if you like you can salvage OHP reflector and put it in you custom box.
