What potentiometer for IcePower 100AS2 (1.8k input impedance)

All the opamps you mentioned are duals, except for the one you said I shouldn't use which was suggested after I mentioned this board needs singles, not duals
Yes,you keep being suggested nduals 😉
But seriously, even TL071 is already WAY better than needed there, go figure, unity gain buffer is the easiest job on Earth.

Of course, there must be many better singles, only problem is that by choosing DIP8 footprints you are throwing yourself back in time 🙂

But again, almost any decent Op Amp will work there.

Aux power from the Icepower board? I never had any luck with that no matter the amp model. Would be interested to hear if you can make it work.
Oh if the aux supply doesn't work as is with just a voltage regulator, then I'm not going to stress over getting it going.

I'm happy to solder a soic8 onto a dip8 adapter 🙂 I tried googling problems with these as mentioned earlier in the thread but came back with nothing that wasn't due to user error.

The extra lead length can cause problems. In fact, even a DIP-8 socket can introduce enough stray nasties to affect stability.

The Secret Squirrel weapon is to solder ceramic bypass capacitors directly to the adapter board. This bypasses the extra inductance introduced by the adapter and/or socket. I've seen a bypass board that actually has pads to facilitate this, with an extra pad for ground.
