What music did you last buy?

Got another '60s classic.......

The Young Rascals - Self titled debut album

It's "SD-8123" which is the '66 stereo version that was released along with the mono "8123" '66 version...
It is real stereo none the less, not some electronic abomination.
However, it does exhibit the "hole in the middle" problem that many early stereo records had . So, it sounds better converted to mono via my mixer .

Anyway, considering it's age, it's in remarkably great shape.🙂

Big props to Northwinds over at Phoenix Audio Community for the very sweet deal on the 1959 Mono pressing of Miles Davis~ Kind of Blue. He tossed in the Joe Jackson and Milestones as extras- cheers. Managed to get these all cleaned yesterday and will be giving 'em a listen over the next few days.

new album

Nice covers Nick Danger. Picked up Class of 55 - Memphis Rock and Roll Homecoming- with an extra disc of interviews. Also have the cd on back order. Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison and Johnny Cash got together in Memphis in 1985. HeyBill

Remix of 'Who's Next'. And, the re-recorded 'Forever Changes' by Love. Both classics from the late 60s/early 70s. Few albums have aged so well. My boys where completely blown away by 'Behind Blue Eyes' and 'My Wife' plus 'Old Man' on the remixed album. Played back on my homebrew Pensil 10p speakers and Pass F5 amp (with DIYAudio boards and cabinet). CD player was a Sony ES bought off of Craigslist for $50. Entire system is less that $1000, and my film production son said he has heard nothing better in any studio in Hollywood. Thank you MarkAudio and Nelson!

Early Christmas presents to myself arrived today ..........
I have had very good luck with E-bay vinyl purchases . Yes... I may pay a few dollars more but, I get what I pay for .

1) Fleetwod Mac - Rumours
This is a original NM US Pressing.. ....BSK- 3010....with the "Burbank palm tree" label..... it even has the textured outer sleeve which is also NM
I had to have it as it was at a very reasonable price.
It looks and sounds like the shrink wrap was just removed and never played!
It sounds amazing..... with absolutely no pops ticks etc .

From the same E-bay dealer.........

2) Dire Straits - debut album
Another NM original pressing ......
The dealer must have had some Christmas spirit because he also included as a free gift a NM original US pressing of
Dire Straits - Communique
.....which is of course their second album .
Both sound fantastic ! 🙂
