Anyway, can anyone provide a guide in how to fix the cable in the picture? I need to replace the end piece. The wire is really thin btw if that matters.

Thats an "RCA" plug, male. When you get a new connector, you strip back the outer wire about 2 cm, untangle if braid, and strip the end of the center wire about 1/8". Then you solder the center wire at the end of the tip, and solder the braid or outer wire or second wire to the ring. I use a Weller WP25 iron with a 7/32" screwdriver tip. I use tin-lead solder with rosin core. Wear safety glasses when soldering, solder spashes.
Or you can buy used cables at the charity resale shop for $1. Every DVD play and DTV converter came with three.

Well it's actually for a teacher at my school and he doesn't want to solder it. He thought there should be a way to get just the end piece and attach it somehow.

I've seen solderless rca connectors at radio shack, but no guarantee as to the quality of the connection.
