I don't have 4 of them. Only 2. But the kits speakers from Parts Express look like the perfect set of the next audio sYstem that i build,
My main complaint about my speakers are lack of parts aviable, and if i find them, the seller is unable to wrap them so they arrive in a usable condition.
My Ht system consists of 2 JBL XPL200 and 3 JBL XPL140, all of them use the 095Ti domes wich i recently bougth a extra pair to have as spare parts. they arrived with mashed domes 🙁

Hi Pocoyo,hi jay
18. my speaker need more power than the others speaker
i used 2 x 200 w for 8 ohm now
I also use 2 x 200w now 😀 😀
Hi Jay
25. My speakers are not sounding the same as before... (compares to a few years ago)
Don't know if it is because use better amp or maybe some burn in there 😱
Yes i can see that both of you are fond of annoying neighbours.Hi Pocoyo,

#23. Not yet built! Project derailed several times with a couple of forced cost reductions (wife approval induced) which caused three different designs to be made. Toss in designing each (x3) in 10 months, a record breaking PITA... and I'm not done yet
Active, 8 channels x 90w each @4Ω (8Ω drivers run in parallel pairs) + 4Ω AMTs. Total of 12/ 6.5" Peerless midbasses ±6mmXmax, 4 of which I'm modifying the motors pole, machined into a Tpole with faraday shielding done right (better than) to further reduce distortion to be used as mids (MTM) crossing @~ 2.2kHz with a LR2 LP network going from a 2nd order acoustic to a 4th order acoustic an octave up.
BTW these are cheap woofers but do not have a gross breakup and was one of the cleanest top ends I've seen, akin to why the midbass drivers used in the Ariels were selected.
AMT to be crossed with a staggered LR2 for reducing IM and possibly adding a tank to further null the impedance peak, which is not much. The Mids are crossed over above the point where GD increases in a sealed enclosure, isolated drivers. This melds into the other 4 midbasses, 2 floor loaded side by side integral to the tower, compensating for baffle step loss, each driver isolated from the others in a MLTL. With the last two midbasses used for another sub MLTL for proper bass distribution. The latter may be modular to the tower, not sure yet.
Efficiency is ~90dB.
Range covered 30-20k, highpass LR2 @ 27Hz.
Should work out quite satisfactory. Early listening tested have proved a very well matched and integrated sound without issues. MY original thought was to post all this up for anyone to build, but with off the shelf parts. For me that added far to much additional cost. Will still post up, but kinda doubt most would want to copy it due to the mods required and the complex enclosure design < perhaps inspire another 🙂
Cheers,
Mike

What a complicated project! I hate all the mechanical work and woodworking. Lr2 is not easy so good luck 🙂

Tell me about it, Have tested LR4, not that much difference. But do have to admit this was done in part "as would be" if totally built. More testing for sure.
Woodworking... LOL now here's one idea that I've not totally tossed out, but would require a rhomboid ellipse of approx 60" length x 12" wide, 1¼" thick of four different laminations 😱 ... and that's the back panel x 4!

i usually work with ugly prototypes. I hate it when i make a good cabinet and later found out that it is not the best one for the drivers. And those good cabinets, of course i didnt make it by myself heheWoodworking... Hehe... yes if turn a little loud it is annoying everyone...Yes i can see that both of you are fond of annoying neighbours.
What better amp is it at 200w?
the amp now feeds with 2x50VAC 2x300VA trafo
but not the amp, before I make any amp seen here there was 150w ocl (I made my own pcb)...
the sound of new installed speakers is not good compare to the old one,
the older & cheaper one is better. But after some years its changed by itself 😕 ...
now I have build several amp here, maybe build one set more speakers will be nice too 😎
will see some inspiration here...
