I'm still having far too much fun with sighted subjective evaluations of variations of application and form and formulae of filters.
I know I have been promising for far too long, and indeed tonight I promised my Mum that I knuckle down and get measurements of what a quite large sample size of male/female/young/old/punters/musos/audiophiles etc universally easily hear and indicate strong preference for.
Yes, it's taken me a long time using subjectivity to home in on what I think needs to be measured, and how to do it.
There are some interesting caveats regarding the measurement system I think, that I think I have the solution for, but I am not certain at this time.
I am well at the stage that I can perfectly nicely clarify any system and then if desired add other signatures at will....tonight's just for fun version filter in use right now incorporates 1969 45 Rolf Harris vinyl and sounds well, like that kind of vinyl....highs subdued, botom lows subdued, dirtyish 'rose' mids colour, subjective loss in clarity/resolution, odd overall distortion and compressed/strangled/Muzak character compared to dead clean filter.
Cool feedback recently....I teleported a filtered USB cable treated Wav file classical music album to my mum's laptop computer on the other side of the country.
My Mum has remarked on the clarity of the playback and the other day my Mum had a home help retired Dutch plumber come to fix a few taps.
The upshot is that this fellow refused to believe that such sound could be coming from the elcheapo pos 3" PC speakers connected to the headphone out of the laptop and had to be shown that the lounge stereo was indeed turned off.
I loaned a filter today to a workmate who is keen to try it on guitar, hi-fi, playstation HDMI etc, I will get feedback tomorrow.
Scott, I will be pleased to let you in on the joke in private come time, a phone conversation would be interesting, PM when you would like to.
It ain't actually funny when you come to comprehend the depth, extent and multiplicity of effects of what I am exploring.
The joke is that the really cool thing is that the effects I mention can be ameliorated easily and economically, audio has been the discovery and driver/confirmation channel of my investigations.
I will soonish demo audio and other applications and show data to guys who are in direct with layer two of the world....with any luck this knowledge should become universal for the benefit of all, seriously.
There are some bad things going on in this world, pharma/vaccinations/herbicides/insecticides and others, EMR is one elephant in the room but thankfully has a proper solution.
My signature line is there for a reason.

Sometimes I'm wondering if the quantity and quality are not purposefully and carefully designed for stirring the pot, and drawing some attention from the otherwise innocent contributors.

I see your problem. That transistor is BCE not EBC!
On a previous matter in even the 741 opamp the final output transistor is a Vertical PNP that performs almost as well as the NPNs. The give away to the type is the schematic shows the collector tied to the negative rail which is the substrate.
All the other PNPs were of poor quality with Betas of 2 or even lower!

From industry insiders he was known as the 'octopus'....and never to be left alone with youngsters.
The particular 45 was sun damaged/warped and free from a garage sale, I just wanted the vinyl as an example of the formulations available, certainly this example contains lead and cadmium in the mix.

My only real 'success' with electronics is with Tantalum caps on a +-15V load cell amp board. My oppo had soldered them all in backwards and proclaimed it tested.
I plugged it in on site and was presented with about 16 small firework displays
😀It's not like plugging in a ATX PSU on the wrong voltage, that's a bang, pop and black marks. This was sustained flashing, popping and sparkling. Very entertaining to the two cement mixer drivers behind me 😡
Thankfully they were only bypass caps and I could still commission it and get the ever-longer queue of drivers out of the yard.
1200A 600V DC circuit breakers go really well when you get the 12 pulse 11KV phasing wrong on a 2.5MVA transformer supply. Bang that shook the rafters, made everyones ears ring and left an awful silence after it. I knew what I'd done as soon as it happened
. OK guys we need to swap a phase and try again. I was left to test it myself the next time! 800A 415V crusher drive with sliprings and a inductive transformer start also went well when my mate decided to cross-sequence it. Smoke, flames and I had to grab him by the collar and eject him out of the switchroom before the halon went off. All good fun.

Those were accidents (things that weren't done according to the design).
But what would you think of EEs that, intentionally through design, route power cables through fuel tanks?

I doubt EE's were involved, the actual decisions here would probably involve PE's from several disciplines that are board certified. There is an equivalent in most countries. How about space shuttle O-rings, flexible gas hose, aluminum wiring, Li-batteries?

Dunno Scott. Maybe it's the same bunch pontificating here about the role of "EE training" in music listening? 🙄
Designer's problem, power sequencing, hot plugging, etc. are part of any new chip evaluation. In the worst case a work around belongs on the datasheet. Everyone makes mistakes, I once had to mod a mask and hand carry the fixed samples to the middle of nowhere in Jutland. Everyone ended up happy.
No connection at all, OTOH claims of audio reproduction involving phenomena outside of known physics does. Listened to some Django Reinhart from the 30's last night, very light on the restoration wonderful low-fi. You seem to be the one pontificating, and I've lost track of what your point is. Somewhere in space time there might be someone that says their set of measurements guarantees sonic equivalence, I don't see any of them here.
