Very cool!! I'd try to get the original amp stable and running so I could hear what it sounds like before any modifications,,, If you are a guitar player, you have the makings for 2 PP amps... Since its using "general purpose" OPTs, they would be fine for a git amp project, or two!!!

I just finished a Super champ(6L6SE) project with a UTC GP type OPT, Its sounds way better than I expected,,, I'm working on a another 5F1 Champ(pics), using another UTC as I got 3 of them a couple weeks ago,,,
