Back,so I am thinking with all this too and fro , there is no stimulation factor,so there must have been a space prior to whatever because you cant make something from nothing,so infinity is infinity it cant expand as such so is the universe expanding? No its maturing and just filling out ,
so my eyes work at the speed of light my ears the speed of sound and my mind with its 27 varients is faster than a tachyon, and I can go back in time with sight sound and smell, its called memory, where as a tachyon will be looking for more of its kind because it is lost,I am sure like everything else they work in numbers

it was just a term I mean the whole argument is about corresponding minds I think the English language suffers through the ability to translate a thought to another or maybe not it could be my lack of education ,but its not infinity its the space in between to infinity lotsa space
maybe you are right I might have misunderstood "the metric expansion of space" maybe its not all over but singularly? not sure

How many dilithium crystals did you have for breakfast?
A singularity has no dimensions.... well.. no dimensions that can be determined from the space in which it is a singularity. Perhaps WITHIN the singularity there are many other dimensions, sort of like the Borg Star, except that we don't know.
Question.. within a singularity, what does the outside space time look like?
Where is the evidence there is such a thing as a singularity?
.. not conjecture but actual evidence.

grusome, we don't actually know that the universe is infinite.
Our best measurements indicate that space is neither negatively or positively curved, but 'flat' on the largest scales.

If we assume that our current laws of physics are correct, we can set limits on how large, at least, the Universe must be before it curves back on itself.
The lower estimate of the size of the universe is 18 trillion light-years in all directions. That's huge, but it’s still finite.
The higher estimate (assuming the universe remains flat out that far) is 37 trillion light-years in diameter.
Read the link in my post, TNT.
The curvature is associated with a critical density.
If the density of the universe is higher than critical, then space has positive curvature, and the expansion of the Universe will be replaced by compression in the future.
There's your Big Crunch again! 😱

Why must it curve back?
It 'could' curve back, it depends on the topology of the universe.
If the topology was that of a hypertorus, the universe would curve back on itself while still being spatially flat.
Steve is your man when it comes to topology!

These three sentences has no other alternative... ;-)

But, but ... I have abandoned that ;-DThere's your Big Crunch again! 😱

I don't think so, Steve doesn't know where Uganda is but he thinks he does!It 'could' curve back, it depends on the topology of the universe.

Again, please explain this "if" business?
Is "if" a dimension?

I have no idea what you are getting at.

Topology is easier to understand!
Is "if" a dimension?
Ditto.
Or should I say there are different solutions to Einstein's GR equations and we prefer one if over other possible ifs?
Eee - the words you used to form the post and its semantics all indicate that a wrap will happen. Thats what you wrote - please keep up the logic and pay attention 007 😉I have no idea what you are getting at.
