Here's what I know:
Standard Model of Physics is broken. No explanation of the Spin 2 Graviton.
String Theory with all its extra dimensions is getting DESPERATE! Predicts nothing. M-Theory is more a hope than Science. My own opinion is 4D is about it.
I am looking for chinks in the Universe for further progress. Newton's inverse square Law totally failed to predict the pregresssion of the perihelion of planet Mercury.
Took Einstein's General Relativity to explain it.
But what if Einstein was wrong? Or at least, inaccurate?
Does it apply to the Planck Length? Or the dimensions of the Observable Universe? By which I mean c^2/R.
It is generally agreed that Einstein had lost the plot by the end of his illustrious career. The Cosmological Constant caused him much trouble.
He never quite believed in his very own Quantum Theory. TBH, nor do I. Makes no sense. Must be missing something.
BTW, and I am surprised no-one picked this up. My statement that the product of two Prime numbers always being of the form 24n + 1 is WRONG. 😡
5 x 7 = 35 disproves this.
The correct mathematical statement is: "The Square of a Prime Number of 5 or above is always of the form 24n + 1". Where n is an integer above zero.

Discussion of Steve's prime numbers (rightly or wrongly an' all that...) is an aside. 😉
When it comes to doughnut topography, you'd be better off asking Homer. 🍩

As the Forum's premier Mathematician, I must explore Homer Simpson's idea of 3987 as being interesting!
Alas, no such conclusion appeals to me. 3996 is of some interest. Being 6 x 666.
NO. 3987 and 4365 are dull numbers. Unless I have missed something.

I must admit to a fascination to the most popular of the transcendental numbers, Pi.
3.14159... and so on:
Don't get me onto Kate Bush. 😀

No, we don't want to go "Running Up That Hill"! 😱
As a reasonably intelligent member of the Universe, with a Sporting background, I recall the words of Champion Heavyweight Boxer Mike Tyson:
"Everybody has a plan, 'til they get smacked in the Mouth!"
Wise words indeed. 🙂
"The Man who knew Infinity" was Srinivasa Ramanujan IMO:

Everything else is just Witchcraft:
And what is wrong with THAT? 😀

Yes, and he recently passed that wisdom on to a relentless passenger badgering him on a jet.Wise words indeed. 🙂
The new Mike Tyson is a very gentle man! He practices Zen meditation, he is kind to birds. Copacetic is his middle name. 🙂
Anyone who throws a drink at him might, however, expect to meet the OLD Mike Tyson!
It's instinct! 😎

How do you envision that the structure is able to maintain a center that is non solid i.e. hollow part under such enormous densities?Discussions of Galu's Vindaloo Curries (Both Ends Burning an' all that...) is an aside.

Without a precise reference, I can only assume you (Disco-Pete) mean "Down that Road" by C2C:
Sings the downtrodden Blues to me! 🙂
I am far more upbeat. Having just finished Lee Smolin's book "The Trouble with Physics" today:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Trouble-Physics-String-Theory-Science/dp/0141018356
I can now return to the far more interesting John Connolly "Charlie Parker" book:

TBH, I assumed "The Black Angel" is Louis. I might be surprised! 😀
@TNT, one must retain the centre. This is who we are.

Steve made it clear that the collaborators affectionately called the image a "doughnut".
Any resemblance of an actual black hole to a doughnut is obviously absurd.
If it looks like a doughnut, it probably is a doughnut!
Let me clear up my muddle about the very exciting James Webb Space Telescope and its operating Temperature of -230C:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-61268680
I now realise that one of its sensors is cryogenically cooled to 6K.
Which is -267C. Or 6K.
Everybody happy?

No, John Fogerty came to mind in "The Old Man Down The Road". www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzah7VD_PM4Without a precise reference, I can only assume you (Disco-Pete) mean "Down that Road" by C2C:

btw, you can "only assume"? Have you not been paying attention to Galu's and my references to your one and only Benny Hill? Clearly above your rank my good fellow.

PFFT! 🙄

Disco-Pete, the Scientific method is to state your references! Otherwise we are guessing!
I have listened to the occasional John Fogerty album.
To my surprise, he wrote "Proud Mary". I would have swore Ike Turner did it.
But nobody did it like Tina:
BTW, and not many people know this. But when you hold up your right hand... Well that is Gospel.
