Can you be more specific? Perhaps by supplying a link?Something about galactic collisions

NASA Finds Direct Proof of Dark Matter
By observing galaxy cluster 1E0657-56 aka the 'bullet cluster' (image attached) the research team obtained data which suggests that the separation of normal matter from dark matter is taking place. The bullet cluster was formed after the collision of two large clusters of galaxies.
The research team leader is a bit more reserved than the sensational article heading.
P.S. In the Chandra X-ray telescope image attached, hot gas is seen as two pink clumps and contains most of the "normal" matter in the colliding clusters. The bullet shape of the hot gas on the right gives the galactic cluster its name. The blue areas in this image show where astronomers detect most of the mass in the clusters, which they say is due to dark matter.

This study supports the existence of dark matter and future theories will have to take its results into account."...we've come closer than ever to seeing this invisible matter,"

That's not the tack I've been taking, Bill. We are still only talking hypothetically when it comes to understanding the expansion of the universe - which may not be accelerating after all!
The universe is beyond weird.
But as it stands now, there's a lot of mass missing from galaxies and it seems to expand with increasing rate.
Well sourced Bill! I love the "Pillars of bollocks" condemnation!😀

david lapont made a series of short documentary videos about his work(plasma physics) that he called the Primer fields, just as he started to disseminate really good information backed up by observable lab work, he disappeared for the public eye. <youtube primer fields>
ben davidson has a website(suspiciousobservers.com) and also a youtube channel that focuses on space weather generated by the "solar electric circuit" or berkland currents in old money.

We have evidence of dark matter and dark energy insofar as the expansion of spacetime appears to behave in ways that imply their existence. You could also say that we have no proof of gravity, we developed the hypothesis that gravity exists long ago to explain the motion of apples falling from trees, moons orbiting planets, planets orbiting stars, etc. It was first thought to be a simple force couple between masses. Then a surprising warping of spacetime resulting in straight lines following curved paths. Do we understand the details of the mechanism by which masses warp spacetime...not really, we have posited the existence of gravitons that mediate the interaction but in the end it's all inference to explain how the Universe seems to behave.
“Science is but a perversion of itself unless it has as its ultimate goal the betterment of humanity.”
That`s indeed a noble ideal. Regrettably, science is defiled by popular entertainment like the subject of this thread. Making such predictions is traditionally the business of charlatans and voodoo priests, but the line between spiritualism and science has become thin. Supplement the calculations with the Extraterrestrial Intelligence Equation while you are at it.
Absolutely, and researchers draw their inferences from data. The larger the data set becomes, the more reliable the inferences will be....in the end it's all inference to explain how the Universe seems to behave.
Our tools to unearth the required data are becoming ever more sophisticated. Using the effect of gravitational lensing to determine the concentration of mass in distant galaxies is just one tool being used to help unlock the mysteries of dark matter.

Which part of N=(R*)(fP)(ne)(fL)(fi)(fc)(L) don't I understand? 🙂Supplement the calculations with the Extraterrestrial Intelligence Equation while you are at it.
In the context of the expansion of spacetime, 'imply' means 'suggest as a logical consequence'."imply their existence"
Scientists like logic! 😉
@Galu
yea maybe
but as has already been suggested, we still know very little. what if some thing else causes the red/blue shift and we are misinterpreting that for expansion in all directions.
did you check out lapont & davidson ?

It's precisely the 'what ifs' that scientists are dedicated to exploring.what if something else causes the red/blue shift

sometimes its better to find out stuff for your self, rather than taking the word of a "vested interest"
dont tell me you believe in the carbon based climate model as well

I am a scientist. I don't 'believe', I evaluate data.dont tell me you believe in the carbon based climate model as well
