The only thing that can save us is fusion, but that's always 20 years away.

if you only look at the stars, how can you look inside of you?

fusion is nice, but a technologiacal advancement among many others.

what we need first, and i mean right now(except if you are on the chinese side), is a SOCIAL BREAKTHROUGH.

technology is not holding us back, it s making us play more dangerous games. The complete opposite.

right now at least.

but that may be about to change.

namely with the advent of internet

I think WE are the problem..A social breakthrough is usually based on what people want..the problem is everyone wants something different.

Its a bit like saying we want world piece...but many don't (Some like conflict)...there is a universal truth the trouble is we don't know what it is!

So everyone has there own Ideas (But do they)...even if we had the knowledge it would take decades if not forever for people to accept it.

Do you think its possible to go to another planet and leave our differences behind? If you look closely can we ever be any different..if we all became one mixed race all the same..we would still have problems because we have free will.

I remember talking to a religious person who said they wanted a perfect good and peaceful world that would last forever ..I said how do we progress..if there was nothing to strive for?

Someone said what is progress? Its an interesting question to ponder!

If we didn't have conflict on earth how long would it be before we found someone to have conflict with...its very strange because when we have what we want it becomes obsolete and the bench mark moves. If it didn't everyone would be happy with what they have...and audio would be a thing of the past.

I think its interesting to ask the question has an ant got free will?
Then ask have we or is it collective?

If its not strive to survive its strive to gain. And is that linked to manufactured circumstances?
Cause and effect<<yes..

I remember reading something a while ago where the idea was put forward (when we get angry is it a manifestation of something else?) who knows but its interesting.

Maybe it's what we do with our Free Will that is the problem.

Do ant's have a free will ? That's interesting. Maybe they do . 'My ant hill is bigger than your's !🙂

I just came across an ant hill in a semi forested part of our college camps. It was almost 5 feet tall ! I was really fascinated by it !

Like you said, even if ALL humans were the same , it will slowly lead to segregation and problems between them. It's inevitable I think. Talking about white and coloured racism. It's all rubbish. There is racism everywhere even between people with the 'same' skin colour and has been going on for a few thousand years ! No, we can never become ALL equal ,at least not for the next 1000 years or more !
It's sad but true I think !

aie...many, many good topics here that are worth debating!!

let me just say this to stay short:

with recent research in biology, psychology, social relations, anthroplology,

we have come to understand a lot more about human being:

how it htinks, what it wnats, what it needs....

i say what but where,why,how,etc...applies also

''we'' have come to understand that each person is different AND equal

and that many conflicts have resulted in misunderstanding of that fact.

the theory it basically pretends that donwe the right way, everybody can be happy on this planet.

it is a bit utopic as many people have a lot loose doing that change, but it is our duty to try to convince, at least, that this idea is the best for everyone.

you said that ''many people thinks that, way but nobody get toghether''

...well internet (technological advancement) made possible to ''virtually get togheter''...it's just a matter of time.

but as i said... some people will be reluctant to do so bevcause they built empires on corruption, manipulation, disinformation, and more....

that is why i believe we are in a VERY IMPORTANT time in mankind life.

in the coming days ,months, years, especially.

we have to overcome ',adversity'' or it may well end in a 3rd world war(i hope not!)

with recent discoveries, we realised that

we are bound to be different if we want to fully realise ourselves, our potential.

besides, it is physically impossible to be all the same...genetics dont allow that

Perhaps the universe has the answer to society,

The men that went to the moon were affected by the experience.

Perhaps Richard Branson may be on to something with Virgin Galactic..

I wonder how many people would be effected by a trip into space..

I wonder what effect it would have if everyone could experience it.

presuming human society as a whole will mature enough to recognize and understand it - my guess is "that's why it's called free will - it's all up you"

what wouldn't we pay for that experience? - well, actually for starters we could....

await a few more successful test flights before embarking on that journey

I wonder what the environmental cost of all of us experiencing the real thing with current or likely near future technology would be?

We can't be trusted! Look at history. Do you think the last few pages of this thread have not been contemplated and anecdotally discussed exactly the same way many times over and over for millennia? The only difference is the pool of knowledge keeps getting larger, to our detriment. Problems just get more complex and the answers more distant. This entire thread confirms this. We are on the verge of destroying the planet. Global warming is nothing but a smoke screen. Global warming is a result of our consumption of the planet. It can't be remedied as long as we continue to populate the planet at this rate. 9 billion by 2050. That's right around the corner. The last thing I want is a collective joy ride into outer space! Anyone here heard of Agenda 21? Yes, the problem is not with the stars, it's with us. More precisely, 'in' us, individually, not collectively except by incidence. You want to change the world? Change your own heart and attitude and you have. Free will? More like defiance.
