What is the typical distance tweeter is forward of woofer in two-way speaker

waveguided tweeter

If you have them in pairs you can "LX-offset" measure each type, but beware a few subtleties: (1) WG will modify phase response so LX both top/bottom with WG to ensure they are in-phase at acoustic center, for any frequency; (2) bottom WG might hinder listening on-axis to top WG, and lengthen soundwave travel distance, so some careful angling and extrapolation might be required; (3) best to measure offset at multple frequencies in case WG shifted the acoustic center depending on frequency (can it?).

The LX-offset method for finding acoustic center:

Play a test-tone and move top driver forward/back, listen just below top driver's axis for max/min combined SPL (wired same/opposite polarity), and mark top-driver's offset over the up-firing bottom driver's physical center. A precision of 1mm is easily (repeatably) achieved, due to the one-wavelength peak-trough-peak periodicity of changing offset (phase interference). Easier done than said!
