Tango measurments are nice but not done with a tube. In real life measurements the Tango's are different.

Absolutely. And not just some curves but also the way these were measured.
I like for example the Tango datasheets in that regard.
So we have Thomas Mayers 6C5BA and Tom Christiansen's Damn Good 300B (the sceleratus build post is fun!). Any others? Maybe with a bit more horsepower? Or not. Quality is what I'm after.
I've built two Elekit amps - the 879S and the TU 8300R. This has all been a work up to building a dream amp of some sort but really, it's become quite addicting in it's own right: building an amp from scratch and seeing something come to life.
That dream amp (kit) so far is the ANK C-Core interstage 300B Monoblocks. First of all, they are phenomenally gorgeous - audio porn at it's finest, never mind the specs.
What is your "Lottery amp"?
Dave
I believe that with tube amps you can often build things from scratch rather that building a kit. The main reason to use a kit would be if you're new to electronics / soldering AND you want to build a complex circuit with complicated power supplies etc.
The ANK 300B is not such a complex beast. It has lots of flashy parts and is super expensive (if not overpriced). If you're interested in a (parallel) 300B with interstage, take a look here:
- Thread on DIY audio: http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/tubes-valves/272707-300b-se-interstage.html
- My own 300B pse interstage: 300B parallel single-ended tube amp | audioroot
I'd suggest you choose your design, then source the parts you like (not the ones selected by some guy who set up a kit to earn money), and build the thing the way you like it.

Thx mbrennwa! Exactly what I'm looking for.
