Job, wife, kids, I have no time for this hobby anymore, yet I have a box full of stuff that I simply cannot throw away. I come from humble roots, didn't have much growing up, so I am physically not capable of throwing things of value in the garbage.
I've considered selling it but taken together the stuff is only worth a couple hundred dollars, and the effort to post, document, coordinate, and ship everything is not worth it. I am fortunate to have a career in IT and blessed with success, so rather than sell, I'd like to give this stuff away. This seems like the right place. I have received so much from this community, this would be giving back.
Ideally I'd like this to go to someone who is very active at diyaudio.com and would use this stuff in a project. So... what is the best way to go about finding someone to take my stuff?
Things I want to get rid of:
Home Audio:
Behringer ECM8000 microphone and UB802 preamp
2x Dayton Reference RS150-4, used but in great condition
2x Dayton Reference RS125-8, used but in great condition
3x Vifa DQ25SC16-04 Titantium dome tweeters
A few Jantzen air core inductors
A few Dayton Audio capacitors
A dozen or so Dayton Audio non-inductive resistors
3 sq ft of sound dampening foam
2x 2.2mh Iron core inductors, used in my Zaphaudio Seas all metal project before I upgraded
1x 1.5mh 14awg air core foil inductor, this thing costs about $40, crazy, but I have no use for it
Car Audio:
a/d/s PQ20 amplifier, made in Japan!, needs repair, only 3 of the 4 outputs work
AudioControl 2xs 18db/octave 2-way crossover
AudioControl 3xs 24db/octave 3-way crossover, might have issues that need some repair
AudioControl EQL 13 band equalizer
MTX RT-X01A 12db/octave 2-way crossover
2x CDT Crossovers for 4 ohm speakers, no idea where the original woofer and tweeters are, they are probably in the 4khz range
2x CDT Audio CL-5X 5" 2-way door speaker 30 watt 4 ohm, great as rear fill, NIB
2x Aura Bass Shaker Model AST-1B-4 (24 watts rms, 4 ohms), had these in my Subaru WRX, they shake your butt good
Edit: holy crap I've been a member since Sep 2003. How time flies....

There is a DIY meet on Saturday, August 26 somewhere on Mercer Island. See this thread the Clubs and Events forum. They will likely be interested in your non-car audio stuff at least. I would post in the event thread about it.

Jeez I have a doppelganger, good luck. Even the universities don't want all the old analog related stuff anymore.
Two ideas come to mind:
one, have a little "competition" here on the forum as to who will get it, e.g. most likely to use it all or someone challenged for hobby funds. There was such a thread a while back for someone giving away a TT
two, if that's too much work, put up an ad on a free classifieds. If you put it up on Craigslist it will probably go to a reseller or a hoarder, but years ago I acquired audio items by someone who asked a friend to post on an internal company classifieds just such an offer.

A little further away … And on the Saturday before is the 14th Annual Vancouver Island diyFEST-2017. You could come up for the weekend and i’m sure most of it would go as giveaway or even door prizes. Anything leftover i am happy to put in my stash for use or later give-away.

Yes, get in touch with the other Wa. attendees for the VanIsleFest. They may be able to pick up and bring these things to the event. I know from experience that audio goodies are really well received at things like this.

Better yet, bring them in person. Contact those planning to come from your area. It's a low key event but we have a load of fun.
Cheers.

speaking from personal experience, getting some of that loot across the border could be more interesting than you want to know about
"No commercial value" works wonders. Just be honest about what you are doing and I doubt you will have any problems.

Non-RHoS adds a bit of cred to that since they can't be sold. In either case I have used the NCV and never had a problem anywhere.
Maybe it was my going south with a station wagon full of DIY vacuum tube projects and speakers a couple of years following 9/11, through the same port of entry that Ahmed Ressam used in December 1999.

That's interesting, a month after 9/11 an engineering manager friend of mine of obvious Arabic descent by name and appearance had a carry on full of demo cards and wires everywhere and had no problems. I got stopped in China with dozens of boxes of tubes of cheap watercolors in lead tubes in long thin boxes. On the x ray they looked like clips for an automatic weapon on the US side it was obvious to the inspector what I had, go figure.

then there's the apocryphal urban legends of the strange things airport baggage scanners have found in carry-ons, and the full body scanners don't miss any hidden jewelry or "whatever that is"
The Vancouver island event looks amazing. I live literary up the road from Kenmore Air which flies into Victoria. What a trip that would be. I plan to be down in Oregon that weekend camping, to be in the path of totality for the solar eclipse on the 21st.
The Mercer Island DIY show is perfect. Count me in, and I will post in that thread. I even have something to bring!

Finally took some photos of the crossover parts. Just looking at this stuff makes me want to start a new project 😀
An externally hosted image should be here but it was not working when we last tested it.
