What is "red copper"?

Both are conductors, not insulators. The rest is copper powder and a lubricant.
But the mechanical joint requires metal to metal contact. It's the air gaps that get filled with the "grease".

Filling the air gaps and sealing around the perimeter of the metal to metal contacts, gives the "airtight" joint. This air tightness is what eliminates the progress of corrosion.

It is a very common term used in china. It basically means close to pure copper. The guys selling their products cannot tell you the spec as he is sourcing the material from china as well. You can find the original on taobao.com. Taobao is kind of like china version of eBay.

Use the keywords
Gaofei
Copper color
And you should find what you are looking for

All I know is that people (bad) named in the first post sell great parts. I mentioned that all what can be seen at Gaofei site isn't available via ebay shop, and neither at Taobao.
The last thing I bought were RCA rodium plated sockets that are simply astonishing, but since this is all about "red copper" and not about the shop(s) I believe that some guys did answer dubious questions already.

Why are they being so secretive about the product ??

It makes me suspiscious.

maybe they are not secretive
its probably commonly avilable stuff

but tell me, why should they waste time talking abouit it
they want to sell their stuff and make money, what else is there to it
place a big order, and Im sure they will talk

but whats in for you ?
why do you want to know ?
why should we waste time on it ?

I started this thread to see if anyone knew what exactly "red copper" is....I had been told by A&B Systems, the distributer of Gaofei products, that a product was made of red copper. Despite asking them repeatedly what the purity, alloy, etc., was that made up this "red copper", all I got was rude replies and put offs. When a main sales point for audio plugs and receptacles is the material they are made from, I would expect a clear answer to this very clear and germane question. There is no internationally recognized alloy of copper called "red copper".

😕 if it doesnt exist, how can any of us answer your question what it is 😀

but its probably just a marketing trick

I gave it a try and said that its of the kind made for machining
its available everywhere for maching bearing bushes
we call it 'red metal', and not 'red copper'
and its expencive, yes

hell, maybe a marketing person made a mistake they cannot correct or answer to now 😀

but you still havent told us why you want to know ?
just for fun, or commercial interests ?

There is simple answer to your "question" Copper(I) oxide - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I doubt that any distributor in the world would have so much patience or will to explain the whole process of manufacturing. :h_ache:
