Hi there,
Pleased and proud to stop lurking and to say hi to this amazing community.
Me I mainly do website stuff, and also write music. Hence my budgets are generally zero-ish. Music is done on an old 4 string Clifford Essex banjo, Gibson Dove and Korg Triton.
Monitoring is a Sansui amp feeding EMI ovals - also through to the hifi - 1963 Leak Stereo 20 and Soviet speakers (sometimes Lowthers as well).
With electronics - I've built a few simple kits including two led flashers that did not work. And then a PIC programmer and I've done a few PIC things with more success.
The grand plan is to start building audio with opamps - then maybe to copy them using valves. Then on to mic pre's and compressors.
But I'm pretty rusty with audio - and was not very advanced even way back.
So obviously I will be pestering the forums for help - sorry in advance.

Welcome aboard!
Starting with building the simple chip stuff is a good way to start , and
cheaper too.. We are trying to get it to be easier to find things here but it is taking a while.
However, by poking around a bit you will start to get ideas of projects that will work for you
