What happened to diyaudio?

Yes.
Why? In this way the system is free from vibrations of any kind, in particular in the audio band.
That is what puts yourself in a situation of minimum error. Systematic errors, more precisely.

And how do you "subsonically couple" yourself to the system?

I think you are funny. You would argue on subject on which you don't have any practical idea and any experience.

That's an allegation.

So have fun! I think I have written too much....

First time I can agree with you.

Anyway your reactions are not new to me..... same old story!

Of course because you have nothing to offer besides your own subjective opinion.

If you want. But I think I have written a lot so that you can make some experience for free. If you try to understand how it works!
I mean the technical points: vibrations, coupling, decoupling, rigid system, effective bessel alignment, controlling the the back wave, the influence of the room etc.....

And you're sure that you really understand these terms? Your setup is not symmetric (on the right side a opening, on the left side a closet) and there's furniture close to the speakers (early reflexions). Why control the "back wave" when the "front wave" is seriously compromised?

Instead it looks like you have nothing to tell except your opinion on what you don't know and understand. Augh!

That's probably a subject you know a lot about.

I have not offered any opinion, only asked for information, which you have responded to with 'read my previous posts'. I have read them, they contain no relevant information.

I ask to what you are referring when you use phrases like 'musical sound space-time event' and have had no reply.

From the vagaries you have posted so I far conclude that you believe your speakers are superior to all else because they are very rigid (you have not explained what construction technique gains them this property) and that they use a bessel alignment in the crossover, I assume you are eluding to the fact that a bessel filter has the lowest rate of change of phase of any of the simple alignments... but you have never used terms like phase or group delay. This doesnt make for a very convincing case.

It could be the language barrier but it seems it is you that doesn't understand or know, or you could have articulated the information required easily.

You still have given no references/links/anything to the designer of these speakers, that would be most helpful in understanding you, as your posts make no sense.

This a classic... non relevant information....
I could say information that you are not able to understand!
Why?
Because you are so arrogant to think that you could understand in five minutes the results of years of research and development, having zero experience!

I have enough of this kind of discussion.....

Because I have no way to do it in this moment. If you want I can give you the telephone number and then it's up to you. Maybe you go to Rome and have some real experience!

😀 Bad exit strategy. You had the time to write countless posts with absolutely no relevant information. Why not write just one post that summarizes the "results of years of research and development"? I would love to invest more than 5 minutes to learn something new. That's why I'm here.

Well said! Thats the last I speak on the matter (tips hat to SY). 45... just one post summarising the "results of years of research and development" that you speak of.... please? Promise I'l try not to get confused 🙄

I'm with Dave on that one. Very interested to learn more about the speakers that 45 has posted. At first I thought it was a Schroeder diffuser turned into a speaker cabinet, but was surprised to learn that it's all felt.

Interestingly enuff, i had this link passed to me today... looks like some intersting stuff (i've not had a chance to consume it yet. I have a feeling it may be relevant.

But shouldn't it get a thread of its own?

I was thinking the same thing earlier... i need to recover from moving a ton of dirt & rocks thou.

What he means to say is that they are decoupled from each other. I.e. there is a suspension system between the various drivers. And the resonance frequency is very low (as it should be). I.e. somewhere below 20Hz? Hence the term subsonic..... I suppose.

When Bill Perkins did this on his PR2 (late 70s), i believe that the decoupling was something like 4 Hz. The same prinsipal is used on suspended turntables.

You'll find the same stuff used in anechoic chambers, concert halls, and theatres to decouple them from environmental noise.

Information for prospective students

I've started reading. Very interesting.... start with the HiFi Critic summary.

He has shown that humans can detect time differences on the order of 5-6 usec (1/t = 200-167kHz).

As interesting was some of the lenghts he had to go to to not have the test gear corrupt the results.
