If you are not very tired with my questiions, this is another one. A DI is an integral value. The same DI may be got with different SPL angle-dustributions. I mean, we look at SPL = SPL(off axis angle). What is your "ideal" for such function? Or, is it sufficient for this fuction to be "rather smooth"?

Which illustrates the relativity of everything. I can imagine a speaker with a DI of 10db constant which sounds and measures terrible on and off axis.
So, most measurements as quantitative qualifications assume certain pre-requisites....
Flat, of course.
If the ideal "flat" does not work, "smooth" is it's Lieutenant....
